MODES OF SERVICE
TRUCKLOAD (Dry Van, Refrigerated Van, or Flatbed)
One of the major benefits of partnering with a non-asset based transportation company is that we view all lanes as opportunities. Therefore we offer truckload capacity when many cannot: 1) in year round truck-deficit markets, 2) during seasonal market capacity crunches, 3) and for general ‘tougher’ lanes. To the contrary, most asset-based transportation companies may be only able to help you if they have equipment in the area.
SLi utilizes a core base of over 6000 common carriers of all sizes. Each day we talk to hundreds of carriers offering access to thousands of pieces of equipment in most domestic truck markets. We use several different electronic venues to solicit and develop new carrier relationships.
At SLi we recognize the urgency essential to successfully manage just-in-time freight. We do more than assign your load to a carrier: we manage the process. Prior to our qualified driver arriving for pickup, we confirm all pickup and delivery appointments. Each carrier/driver is screened for the correct equipment as well as available driving hours to make the transit on time. We speak directly to the driver at the time of dispatch, after arriving at the shipper, daily while in transit (multiple times on hot shipments), at arrival to the consignee, and upon completion of delivery. Our customer service representatives anticipate problems and communicate with the customer, shipper, or receiver in a timely manner. After all, our job is to provide SOLUTIONS!
INTERMODAL
SLi offers a variety of intermodal services. Some benefits include line haul cost savings, capacity availability issues, and a rolling warehouse.

LTL (Less than Truck Load)
SLi is able to offer competitive pricing by leveraging our consolidated volume to negotiate deep LTL discounts with most major LTL carriers. Another way we may save you money is by mode analysis and conversion: we often find customers that inadvertently ship an order LTL when TL would have been a less expensive alternative.
